New Pathways Telephone Pilot Project - ‘Hear to Listen’

New Pathways are pleased to introduce a pilot project of telephone counselling ‘Hear to listen’ which was launched in May 2006, with the help of funding from Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Councils Development Fund.

 
We have started the ball rolling with this project, and it has proven to be very successful with the clientele it reaches. Originally, this project was aimed to support clients whilst waiting for ‘face to face’ counselling, but has grown into a fully counselling telephone service. This service provides counselling to people with varying needs.

Out of Area Service

We offer outreach support to London and Manchester, and to areas where support of this kind may be inaccessible.

Physical difficulties

Easily accessible, whereas ‘face to face’ may prove a little difficult.

Psychological

Helping vulnerable clients to feel less intimated.  Allowing them to talk freely without physical contact.
